Dakar 2013: First win of Marcos Patronelli in ATV

The Argentine Marcos Patronelli, winner of the Dakar in 2010, with the power of his ATV, completed a flawless in the second stage in the desert 242 km with a time of 3h02m40s
The vast majority of the pilots were lost in the desert dunes, difficult terrain and high temperatures caused the abandonment of the Argentine Pablo Busin (Honda), whose motorcycle caught fire, Daniel Mazuco (Yamaha), who struggled with fuel, and Paco Gomez, who had a fall on his bike and broke his left shoulder.
Patronelli stressed: “I am very happy because it came fast and not cross paths with Ignacio Flores (Peruvian pilot who won yesterday) I thought he was on and I could not reach him, but I won.”
The Chilean Ignacio Casale (Yamaha), who finished 8m54s behind leaders completed the podium, while Argentine Tomas Maffei (Yamaha) scored another good performance with a fourth to 9m42s of Patronelli.
In cars, the winner of the stage was Peterhansel (MINI), with a time of 2h35m38s.
