Viedma Mayor Jorge Ferreira dies

Viedma Mayor Jorge Ferreira died this morning at age 57 after a long illness that kept him out of office in recent months.

His remains are veiled to noon at the City Hall, in the capital of Rio Negro, in the framework of the provision of local mourning decreed by five days.

Then he will transfer to Park Cemetery El Carmen, and burial will take place in an intimate ceremony.

Ferreira took the quartermaster for the first time in 2003 and was re-elected in 2007, in 2010, agreed to a third term for the reform of the Charter, with the first symptoms of his illness, he vowed for a third term.

Provisionally President of the City Council José Luis Foulkes remains incumbent until new elections are conducted to elect a successor until the end of the period.
