A Bluefin tuna of 222 kilos was auctioned at the Tsukiji market in Japan, reaching a record 1.3 billion euros (55.4 billion yen).
The buyer was Kiyoshi Kimura restaurateur, who also won last year’s auction.
This time, Kimura kept the piece trapped in the zone of Oma, in northern Japan, but with the addition of this year tripled last year’s record.
“I wanted to live up to the expectations of my clients, who want to eat the best tuna can, like last year,” said the businessman.
Considering the cost, Kimura should sell a small slice of sushi around $ 339, but the businessman said he would sell at 400 yen, about $ 4.5.
