The archbishop of Caracas said that the doubts about Chávez’s health will dissipate on January 10

Venezuela, January 1, 2013

Jorge Urosa, cardinal and archbishop of Caracas, said that the uncertainty about the health of Latin American president Hugo Chavez will dissipate on 10 January, date when he should assume the office for the period 2013-2019. He also asked to pray for his recovery.

“First of all let’s pray for the health of President Chavez, as the Vice President (Nicolas) Maduro said he is delicate, let’s ask God to strengthen him at this time. On the other hand, the uncertainty will fully dissipate on January 10″ said the cardinal.

The remarks came in the context of an interview with the news network Globovision. “At that time we will know how he has evolved” Urosa said.

The health of Chavez, who is hospitalized in Cuba in “delicate” conditions after surgery which was submitted on 11 December, keeps Venezuela in a climate of uncertainty.
