A bus fell into a ravine 200 meters in Ecuador and left 13 dead and at least 37 wounded.
The incident occurred in the Andean highlands, while a bus was covering a tour between the villages of Ambato (Tungurahua province capital) and Píllaro.
According to the first skills, a malfunction in the vehicle’s brakes would be the possible cause of the accident. The driver lost control on the winding road and fell off the cliff.
A survivor said the bus fell after a curve. “After all was confusion. Three people died next to me. I was saved but this is traumatic,” he added.
At least 20 ambulances arrived at the scene to transport the injured. The family moved to hospital Ambato to hear from their loved ones, but information is scarce at the health center.
