Pope Benedict XVI confirmed that the priest José Gabriel Brochero will be beatified, a step toward canonization, by admitting his relationship with the miraculous cure of a child.

The news was reported by the agency of the Catholic Church Argentina (AICA), noting that “this tool definitely gives step for papal beatification, which is expected to take place by the end of 2013″.

The Bishop of Cruz del Eje Santiago Olivera said that it is “a long way” toward popular canonization “Brochero” after the diocese filed from the miracle the Vatican for consideration in 2009.

The news known about 10:00, made jubilation occur in Villa Brochero and Villa Santa Rosa de Rio Primero, besides several towns in the area of Traslasierra, where the priest is revered.
