The government expropriated the property of La Rural

The government expropriated La Rural, according to a decree signed today by President Cristina Kirchner.

The announcement was held by Cabinet Chief Juan Abal Medina, during a press conference at the Government House.

The government argued that the sale of the property held in the year 1991 was irregular.

Abal Medina said it was a “vile sale price, as the operation was performed for half the appraised value”, which marked the “removal of the national heritage.”

“The operation was carried out in 1991 through directly, not made prior auction or tender had been granted a period of 10 years to the Rural Society to pay the value of the property, when that prerogative is prohibited,” said the official.
