City Legislature approved the transfer of the subways and Premetro

After 14 hours of debate, the legislature approved the transfer of the six subway lines and Premetro to the City Government from January 1, 2013.

The rule was passed with 46 votes for and 13 against. The ticket will remain at 2.50 pesos.

Lawmakers agreed the creation of a subway Fund to finance the service is paid for by the rise of 10 percent in Buenos Aires motorway tolls and up to 5 percent of the payment of patents expensive cars.

And included a reformulation of the clause by the State debt that enables the issuance of a bond for $ 300 million that will be used to finance investments, operating expenses and non-operating expenses of the subway system in the City.
