The Group of Vila-Manzano presented a proposal to adapt the commercial society to the Media Law
Argentina, December 2, 2012
The AFSCA, the Federal Authority of Audiovisual Communication Services, held talks with Group One, whose faces are Daniel Vila and Jose Luis Manzano, for a proposal to adapt it to the Media Law. It consists of creating new companies to diversify and rearrange multimedia media concentration.
The initiative consists of dividing the licenses to avoid any conflict with the law. That is, dissolve the group and change the legal reasons.
The group would perform 11 license transfers and would sell another 16 and three registers. The AFSCA must decide whether to reject or accept the proposal.
One of the first steps involves the Supercanal cable operator, who would stay with 18 cable licenses, taking Manzano 7.5% of the shares and the rest would be distributed among some creditors.
Meanwhile, Alfredo Vila, brother of Daniel, would form independent company to have 15 licenses to operate TV and 7 radios.
Daniel Vila would assume control of a society that has two channels and a radio and other company with six licenses to operate, including America TV (with Francisco De Narváez) and Radio La Red.
It was also proposed Barbarita Vila (daughter of Daniel) to be the owner of a licensee of an FM radio in the region of Cuyo.
Finally it should be noted that the proposal seeks to transfer 1 satellite license, 7 cable and 3 radio to people who were members of the group. On sale will be 8 licenses, two TV channels in Junín and San Rafael, 6 signals and 3 records. Among them is the American news channel 24.
