Gaza Strip, November 24, 2012
According to official sources, the damage in Gaza after Israeli operations already reached 300 million dollars. More than a third of this sum comes from damage to the agricultural sector, according to a report from the local Chamber of Commerce.
The same report seeks to declare Gaza as a zone of “economic disaster” from the statistics related to the destruction caused by Israeli bombardment in the last eight days.
The human consequences of the conflict are nearly 170 dead and 1,300 wounded.
The agricultural sector suffered the most losses, $ 120 million, while the business lost another 40 million.
To this was added the damage to homes, public buildings and infrastructure of all kinds.
On this day it was reported that in the negotiations to resolve all kinds of problems that are the focus of tension in the region, Israel accepted the extension of the fishing area in Gaza from three to six miles (five to nine kilometers, approximately) and authorized farmers to work their land in areas adjacent to the border limit.
