The family of a man who died in 1995 of a lung condition presented an injunction in court to withdraw the photo of his relative from the labels of cigarettes, in which he appears dying.

According to judicial sources, the widow of Angel Caminos, a smoker who died at age 72 in August 1995 by a pulmonary fibrosis, and three children filed an injunction in federal court of Córdoba to cancel the photo and prohibit its publication.

The appeal to the Federal Court No. 2, by Alejandro Sanchez Freytes, refers to the National Ministry of Health and 8 brands of cigarettes that attached images of this kind due to a resolution intended to raise awareness among smokers.

The defense counsel, Carlos Naji, said the family “believes” that the man in the picture is Angel Caminos, so they felt that there was a “violation” of the right to privacy
