FIFA does not include the goal of Sweden player Zlatan Ibrahimovic among the best of 2012, because the election had already begun when it was converted.

“As Ibrahimovic’s goal was scored after starting the vote and when we had received numerous votes, the selection committee may not include other candidate on the list,” said a FIFA source.

Sweden beat England 4-2 and Ibrahimovic scored all the goals. The last one was a “Chilean” from outside the area after a punt by English goalkeeper.

But despite his extraordinary feat, the goal will not be in the competition for the Puskas Award 2012 award given to the best of the season.

The Puskas Award, named after the legendary Hungarian striker, will be presented at the gala Golden Ball 2012, on January 7 in Zurich.

Argentina’s Lionel Messi, Colombian Radamel Falcao, Frenchman Hatem Ben Arfa and Brazilian Neymar are among the candidates for the award.
