Security and Defence Minister Nilda Garre said, she feels guilty for not being able to reverse what she called a “sense of insecurity” in the population.
“That claim [crime wave] is a strategy of the media to install the theme.”
“In the demonstration of the other day was clear, it had words or slogans that were almost uniform”.
“Personally, I am in a state of some guilt, because people are so worried about the issue. I’m not saying that this is not a country without doses of insecurity, but very minor to the ones in other cities.”
“That feeling is the result of a media installation of insecurity as national government deficit. People feel more insecure in Buenos Aires than in cities like Mexico City, Bogota and San Pablo.”
“The management is promoting a policy of greater participation of citizens in order to fight crime. The State alone cannot do it. People are going to say the most dangerous places, where the bandages intimating, or when the police fail to function properly,” the minister said.
