The MP for the Civic Coalition, Elisa Carrio, announced she would not sign the document of opposition against a possible change in the Constitution in order that Cristina Kirchner can access to a new presidential candidacy.
The signatories were the UCR, the FAP and part of the Civic Coalition, but Carrió rejected to sign it with her pair Alicia Terada because they believe it would be redundant, since their position is deeply known about repudiation of reelection.
“We do so in the understanding that our word is worth and that our position is already public forever,” said the deputy.
“There is no need to say that the content of this initiative by some congressmen seems correct, but we believe it is known our position against any attempt at constitutional reform,” she added.
Meanwhile, Federico Pinedo (Pro Party) said, “this commitment buries Kirchner plans of re-election”.
