Bolivia: At least eight dead and over 20 injured in traffic accidents

A bus of Cochabamba company that left Pilcomayo bound Tarija, suffered an accident today in the field of Cieneguillas leaving eight dead and 20 wounded, according to local media reports.

Three children were killed but their identities are unknown.

The injured were taken to a hospital of Iscayachi town in the municipality of El Puente.

“We have a patient being operated and another in intensive care who are serious,” said the director of the main hospital in Tarija.

The Divisional Police Commander, Walter Villarpando, reported that “a bus fleet has turned Pilcomayo this morning, leaving some people dead, the injured were taken to the hospital in the capital.”

He added that work began to know the reasons why the bus left the deck in the Cuesta de Sama.
