SpongeBob and Hello Kitty were caught in a fight in Madrid downtown.

Two of the characters chosen by children faced punch for several minutes in one of the main streets in Madrid.

The clash was triggered by economic issues and to get more money depends on being in an area with varying influx of people and if they choose to be photographed with them.

In the video you can see passersby who look stunned, not knowing how to react, as some doubt whether fiction or reality.
