Santa Fe police chief Hugo Tognoli remains fugitive from justice

Commissioner Hugo Tognoli is still sought nationwide, having absconded after resign for his alleged links with drug traffickers in the province of Santa Fe.

The former police chief of Santa Fe Hugo Tognoli remains fugitive from justice after the federal judge in Instruction 3 of Rosario, Carlos Vera Barros, waged on Friday an arrest warrant for the alleged link with drug traffickers of this province, judicial sources said.

“There is still no news, no formal or informal contacts existed with Mr. Tognoli lawyers,” judicial sources added.

The court official was referring to the rumors that circulated in the province about a possible “agreed surrender” of the former police chief through his lawyer, Eduardo Jauchen.
