Last night, more than two thousand people were evacuated in the German town of Bad Fallingbostel, in the state of Lower Saxony, due to highly poisonous smog coming out from a chemical plant of Kraft Foods.

According to a fire department spokesman, “We had to evacuate the 250 factory workers and about 1,800 inhabitants of houses near the plant consortium dedicated to the production of canned food.”

“The toxic occurred last evening when operators tried to extract the nitric acid spilled by mistake in a caustic tank”, also known as caustic soda.

“Contact with the cloud so far caused no injuries, but there is a danger that people may suffer serious respiratory or dermatological lesions.”

More than 1,000 people, including firefighters and rescue forces were trying to control the situation on the ground.
