FARC congratulated the ‘companion’ Hugo Chavez for his ‘resounding victory’

The FARC (Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia), through a statement posted Friday on its website, congratulated the ‘comrade Hugo Chavez for his resounding triumph in the presidential election.

He also added: ‘the brotherly people of Venezuela, by the paradigmatic election process conducted with such transparency and sanity, especially to fellow Bolivarian that with determination and conviction, against all odds, against the advanced imperialist and are taking forward the political and social project of Father liberator’.

The guerrillas also stressed ‘the example of democracy magnificent deployed during polling day. It marks a milestone in the history of peoples ‘participation in the conduct of their own destiny, and embraces our America with the heat of the much-needed peace Colombia’.
