Today’s United Nations declared the first ‘International Day of the Girl’

On October 11 at The Empire State Building in New York, the London Eye in London and the Santiago Bernabeu stadium in Madrid dressed in pink to celebrate the first International Day of the Girl, declared by the United Nations (UN).
The former president of Chile, Michelle Bachelet, said she wants joyfully to celebrate the launch of this day’.
And added, “We are all born equal, but even today, many girls are victims of sexual violence and abuse.”
The day is focused on highlighting and promoting the rights of girls around the world.
