Venezuela: Chávez won with the 54% (watch video)

Results: With 90% counted, CNE gave last night the first partial newsletter. The candidate Hugo Chavez achieved 54.43% of the votes (7,444,082 votes) while Henrique Capriles achieves 44.4% (6,151,544 votes).
Venezuelans voted on Sunday in the most uncertain election in a decade.
The president of the National Electoral Council (CNE) Tibisay Lucena said: “Congratulations to all electors who turned out to vote, the armed forces also gives support to the electoral process. Thank all those who worked tirelessly to make this day possible, “adding,” “We have achieved one of the highest shares in the past decades.”
During the day, Lucena said that the day of voting, which passed without incidents, had a massive turnout. In the last presidential 2006, 75% of the electorate went to the polls. Both candidates agreed on Sunday to accept the decision of the Venezuelan people, of which nearly 19 million were eligible to vote.
