Justice Minister Julio Alak denounced a move by judges in collusion with the interests of Grupo Clarin to put on hold the most controversial article of the Media Law concerning the divestment of the monopoly.

“There is a move that is emerging since the audiovisual law was enacted. This move aims to keep in abeyance Article 161 to hold up the Clarín group mandatory divestment by judges who are not natural,” Alak said.

The minister warned of irregularities in the appointment of deputy judge in the Federal Civil and Commercial Court No. 1, Raul Tettamanti, and then said he was not elected by electronic means, but manuals.

“This method is quite irregular was made by judges who have been functional to Clarin and its multimedia strategy, and the Government, the Judicial Council and the democratic representation of Argentina, cannot accept it because it is the method of administering justice” , the official added.
