Bayer decided that the total production of the main component of aspirin is made in Asturias

The multinational pharmaceutical company Bayer ruled that: ‘The total worldwide production of acetylsalicylic acid, the basic component of Aspirin, is made at its plant in La Felguera, which will be expanded with an investment of 6 million euros over 2013′.
According to the Minister of Bayer Hispania, Rainer Krause: “The production capacity of the plant in Asturias, which just now celebrating its 70th anniversary, will increase between 20 and 25%. This results in the production of about 1,200 tons annually over aspirin, reaching 6000, which Bayer believes global coverage cover the demand for this product in the coming years, could grow between 5 and 8% “.
The Asturian factory currently produces most of Bayer aspirin, after closing last year of a plant in Colombia.
