The President began her official activity in New York (watch video)

The President starts the official activity today with a meeting with the Hungarian-born businessman George Soros, at the Mandarin.

Cristina Fernandez arrived yesterday to New York, along with a small entourage, and will attend on Tuesday the UN.

The head of state will meet bilaterally with the UN secretary general, Ban Ki-moon, and meetings with businessman George Soros, and the president of Exxon Mobil Corp., Rex Tillerson.

The agenda of the President during her visit to the U.S., which will end on Thursday, will include a bilateral meeting with her Egyptian counterpart Mohamed Morsi, in the framework of the UN General Assembly, and a visit to the headquarters of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) in Washington, where she plans to meet with the head of the agency, Luis Alberto Moreno.

The President traveled accompanied by Secretaries of Legal and Technical Services Carlos Zannini, and Public Communication, Alfredo Scoccimarro. She was received by the Argentine ambassador to the United States Jorge Argüello.

An hour later, Cristina came to Mandarin Oriental hotel, where was being awaited by the Foreign Minister Hector Timerman, who from this Saturday was in New York.

Soon after arriving at the hotel, located at 60th Street and Broadway, in front of the Central Park, the first president was approached by a small 10 years born in Trinidad and Tobago, who passed the security fence to ask a greeting and a photograph .

Both the little girl named Anya and her mother said they were intended to meet Cristina for what she represents “the struggle for the rights of women and most backward classes”, the mother of the little girl, Rosa told reporters stationed outside the hotel that “the fact that my daughter has embraced Cristina is a treasure for us.”
