Buenos Aires City Finance Minister Nestor Grindetti announced that the Government will not include money for the subway in 2013.
“We have no rules, no formal question to allow us to add anything to the subway, because the absence of a contractual relationship leaves the City outside of the concession agreement, we have nothing that forces or allows us to incorporate some kind of background intended for underground,” said Grindetti, on the radio as M24Digital reported.
It added that “the transfer to be effective, so that it could incorporate some heading in that direction, the Legislature should have approved the transfer and this did not happen.”
On a possible increase in ticket Grindetti replied, “That would have to decide the national government. The grantor, the person signing the concession contract, is the national government. Who is bound by contract is the national government.”
