Emma O’Neil from Glasgow, suffered from anorexia for years and was so thin she could not even sleep in a bed, unable to avoid bruising her fragile skin.

Emma confessed: “I was so thin I could not even sleep in a regular hospital bed, my bones were like razor blades sticking out and hurt me. I even couldn’t sleep in an air bed.”

Her body ravaged by anorexia, alarmed the doctors who attended because “it was the worst case they had ever seen.”

When Emma was 14 was proud to be considered ‘the best anorexic’.

Now, after an eight-year recovery, Emma decided to show pictures of her in order that other girls to see and know how much it hurt to get an obsession with dieting.

Emma, now aged 22, added: “At the time, I did not realize how bad it was. I did not realize what I was doing to myself and my family.”
