La Pampa Governor Oscar Jorge sparked outrage in the opposition for his statements: ‘If the opposition is ordered to do a firing squad, the jerks get in the circle’.
Jorge made these statements in an official act, with the presence of vice governor of Buenos Aires Gabriel Mariotto, Congressmen Agustín Rossi and Chino Navarro, all from the ruling party.
Congressman Ulises Forte of UCR party accused the governor of missing ‘dictatorship’.
“However much the Governor Jorge tries, his unconscious betrays him as he feels nostalgia for dictatorship.”
“In full democracy, it’s hard to think why a governor would use such a metaphor as unfortunate as the firing squad.”
“It’s amazing that so lightly he use such a strong image that makes us think of the atrocities committed by the infamous military dictatorship.”
