The head of the Federal Administration of Public Revenue (AFIP), Ricardo Echegaray said the people should not be afraid of the controls announced in recent months by the agency.
“People do not have to have any fear, all we want is to collect taxes,” said Echegaray on the radio.
He added, “All we’re asking is to have a behavior consistent with their income and their consumption are consistent with their statements.”
And he stressed that Argentines “can consume and vacation wherever they want”.
He also denied having any control on passports. “We have no idea to encroach on rights guaranteed by the Constitution,” he said.
