The national team headed by Lionel Messi faced the Peruvian team in a new round of qualifying for the World Cup Brazil 2014.
It was a difficult game for Argentina, against a team that took the field with everything and played hard. However with the tie, Sabella’s team is still on top of the table.
After 1 ½ minutes, Di Maria fouled in the box and the referee marked penalty, but goalkeeper Sergio Romero interrupted Pizarro’s shot brilliantly.
At 22 minutes, Peru surprised by a move down after a free kick. Carlos Zambrano pushed the ball after a pass from Cruzado to open the scoring.
At 37 minutes, there was a great pass to Lavezzi who was enabled, ending in a center for Higuaín, who kicked the ball to tie the game.
Second Half
At 8 minutes Argentina saved a ball with a Peruvian attack ending in the crossbar after a shot by Ramirez.
In the 13th minute Fernando Gago leaves the court by a blow. Guiñazú replaced him.
Peru tried the rest of the time to reach the Argentine arc and had opportunities but lacked definition.
Argentina defended but with many doubts and Messi in attack played a game very uncomfortable, and could not shine as usual.
