Murray defeated Berdych and reached the final of the US Open
United States, September 8, 2012
The Englishman Andy Murray achieved the final of the U.S. Open after beating Czech Thomas Berdych 5-7, 6-2, 6-1 and 7-6. In the other semifinal fight for a place Ferrer and Djokovic.
The first set was for the Czech, but then Murray was a barrage of precision and power that ended up giving him the victory in the next three sets.
After an even first set, Berdych took advantage by breaking twice Murray’s service, and then he won 7-5. However, the British reacted at time and was a bulldozer: he won the next two 6-2, 6-1. Berdych was very erratic and could not cope with Murray.
The fourth was more even throughout, and in a tie break, Murray played an intense level to finish the story 9-7. It will be the fifth final of a Grand Slam for the British. For now, he never won one. This Sunday he will have the opportunity to redeem himself.
