Argentina beat Paraguay 3-1 under the qualifiers for Brazil 2014 World Cup, with goals by Lionel Messi, Gonzalo Higuain and Angel Di Maria.
The game was played in Cordoba at Mario Alberto Kempes stadium where the national team met with a victory that left it in a good position on the table, but where some doubts appeared mostly in the background.
The score was opened by Angel Di Maria after 2 minutes of the first half, following a pass from Ezequiel Lavezzi.
However, this partial difference was not sustained long due to a gross error of Rodrigo Brana, who touched the ball with his hand in the box and the referee marked penalty. At 17 minutes, Paraguay tied with the goal by Jonathan Fabbro.
But despite not having a good connection as on other occasions, Sabella’s team responded with a goal by Higuain at 30 minutes to go to the locker room with more tranquility.
In the second half, Paraguay still struggling, but its hopes were finished when Messi got the third goal with a stunning free-kick. Before, he had fired twice, but both times the ball had hit the crossbar.
