Jujuy: Humahuaca’s mayor resigns after incidents

Roberto Lamas, mayor of Humahuaca, resigned along with his team after yesterday’s violent incidents that left one dead.

Ever since the conflict yesterday, when members of the social organization attempted to usurp land Tití War of a family, the neighbors demanded the resignation of the mayor by his absence in the event.

Therefore, Lamas decided today with his cabinet resign. The City Council must now determine whether forming a coalition government or call elections again.

Yesterday, the organization Titi Guerra tried to take land inhabited by a family of Humahuaca and found unexpected resistance: The villagers took the matter in hand and casted them out.
