AFIP head Ricardo Echegaray said there is no limit to consume in dollars through credit card abroad.

“Every person can eat what it wants, when it wants, where it wants. People can vacation, activities, events, consumption. They should know that we have information and that such consumption must be compatible with the declarations presented at the AFIP,” said the official.

“The 15 percent is an advance payment of Income Tax or Personal Property; it is a payment on account. In short, for those who are in good standing, has a neutral impact,” he added.

“Argentines who have clarity or transparency can guide their consumption as they want, but this consumption must be compatible with the statements that are made,” said Echegaray.

“These measures seek to curtail the possibility of cheating. It is time that the taxpayer did not cheat the treasury,” he said.
