“Brazuca”, the ball that will be used in Brazil 2014

Finally, Adidas released the name of the ball to be used in the World Cup of Brazil 2014. After completing a survey, it was named “Brazuca” and will debut in the Brazilian courts on June 12, 2014, in the opening match.
As announced by the television channel TV Globo, in the voting, the name “Brazuca” took 77.8% of the votes, while Bossa Nova reached 14.6% and Carnavalesca 7.6%. In this way it will replace the Jabulani used in South Africa 2010.
Brazuca is “an informal term used by Brazilians to describe the national pride in the country’s lifestyle. It symbolizes excitement, pride and good will to all, similarly to the local approach of football.”
