The UCR argued that the project to lower the voting age is “an electoral maneuver”

Today, the Radical Civic Union criticized the project to lower the voting age, arguing that “it is an electoral maneuver” that seeks to use this section of the population.

The National Committee of the UCR said through a statement that “we do not see a serious and profound proposal; we had observed the attempted electoral maneuver, which aims to the use of this segment of potential voters”.

On the other hand, it was considered “the consequences resulting from this conversion of adolescents in ‘new citizens’, as it puts them as starters in the pursuit of a number of rights and duties.”

“The Radical Civic Union believes that the issue in question merits a broad debate, with the opinion of specialists, social organizations and parties” it concluded.
