Antonio Sícaro, official who is charged in the case of the Once Station tragedy, resigned from the Secretariat of normative regulation in the Transport Ministry.

The Interior Minister Florencio Randazzo had recently appointed Sícaro. Before, he was in charge of the National Commission for Transport Regulation (CNRT), and therefore was charged in the case.

The appointment of the official in the Ministry of Transport had caused a deep malaise in the families of the tragedy victims.

The appointment “has generated in the victims families of the unfortunate incident in Once Station on February 22, a deep malaise, with the understanding that it was rewarding a defendant of the judicial case”, Sícaro wrote in his letter.

“While I understand that I performed my duties according to the functions that had vested and have given explanations and reports that Justice has asked me, it was not being resolved yet the degree of responsibility of the accused and in particular myself, I come by this to submit my resignation with which I was honored,” he added.
