Stunning images of animals inside the womb

They can be very different animals, but these stunning pictures reveal the similarity in the beginning of life in the animal kingdom.

Images were captured using revolutionary technology of four dimensions to obtain precise anatomical models, and so, the scientists were able to show the world of mammals inside the womb.

They are a diverse group: elephant, dog, dolphin and penguin shows all united by their similar stages of development.

Scientists captured images for a National Geographic documentary called ‘Animals in the womb’.

The images were also used in “Animals in the womb” for a Channel 4 documentary, which aired in 2009.

They were created by using a combination of ultrasound scans, computer graphics and tiny cameras and some models carefully created to document the progress of the animals from conception to birth.
