Gils Carbó: “I will dictate without caring who likes my opinion”

Argentina, August 18, 2012

Following his appointment as Attorney General of the Nation, Alejandra Gils Carbo said that “as a matter of conviction I will dictate without caring who likes my opinions.” It should be remembered that her application to the Attorney General was approved by a large majority in the Senate on Wednesday.

She also argued that “management will be truly independent,” adding that Righi’s resignation as head of the Prosecution “left weakened the Justice Department” and that “gave an image that should not be, because it is not true that the prosecutor should have the support of the Government to act.”

For her part was hard on some of the issues of concern to the Government, as the judgments of the Supreme Court that urge the State to meet the payment of pensioners. So she argued that they should be fulfilled “especially if there is a commitment to the Organization of American States (OAS)”.
