Pianelli on his meeting with Cristina: “It was a meeting protocol, there was no talk of the subway”
Buenos Aires, August 13, 2012
The head of the metrodelegados (underground unionists) Roberto Pianelli said that in his meeting with President Cristina Kirchner, the subway was not discussed and was “only a protoclar meeting.”
The statements arise after the tenth day of the strike by union members belonging to the Association of Subway Workers and Premetro (AGTSyP).
“It was a meeting protocol, there was no talk of the subway. There was not meeting with anyone. They are liars. I am a national board member of the CTA, I was in an official meeting, he [Macri] uses that to politicize the conflict,” said Pianelli.
He added, “We were ready to claim the minimum conditions for today. These conditions were agreed on Friday with the company. We thought it would be resolved, but the company broke that agreement.”
“The city government does not help in the negotiation. They knew we had an agreement and after the meeting, they launch an attitude that worsens the situation, declaring compulsory arbitration when a party to this conflict. And then they put a fine of 5 million pesos and say we will prosecute. They do nothing to not tighten the conflict,” the union added.
