Strange Disease: Nails grow all over the body of a woman (Pictures)

A young woman is suffering a mysterious illness that causes to grow nails throughout the body.

Shanyna Isom, 28, suffered an allergic reaction three years ago that caused a debilitating syndrome that left her struggling to walk and perform daily tasks.

The college student was covered with scabs hard as nails replaced the hair on her body and doctors are still in the dark about how to cure the mysterious illness of Shanyna.

She lives with her family in Memphis and was in her first year in law school when the cruel nightmare began.

In September 2009 she was prescribed steroids after suffering an asthma attack and within hours began with an itch all over the body.

Soon her skin was covered with hard crusts and doctors tried everything from eczema to staphylococcal infection in vain.

Shanyna was bedridden as the disease covered her entire body and the doctors tried to determine what the problem was.

In 2011 she began treatment in Baltimore, where doctors established that the scabs were nails and noticed that occurred 12 times the normal number of cells of skin hair follicle.

Today doctors could not give an accurate diagnosis, but were able to control the symptoms.
