Cristina Kirchner introduced the new 100 pesos bill with the face of Eva Peron
July 25, 2012
The president, Cristina Kirchner, presented a model of 100 pesos bill with the face of Eva Duarte de Perón to be printed with the agreement of Congress and the monetary authorities. She criticized the Clarín Group, whom he called “head of the national chain of terror and fear.”
We are very happy to have done this the Argentines, along with French. Congratulations to the Mint and we need to recover for the state what is inevitably a state responsibility. I’m sure we’ll have this ticket for the first time a woman joins the tickets.
Look at this man. He is Jose Luis San Pedro, Spanish writer and economist. This man appeared with a letter to the President of Spain. I will not read because it does not corresponds due to some adjectives he uses. But [I read] a phrase that defines a bit our moment. ‘There are economists working for the rich richer, and there are economists who work for the poor are less poor’.
When someone wants to work for the poor are less poor, they were heavily attacked. What things they have told this woman, what they have done to her, and the things they have done after her death, which is worse.
I think this bill is a tribute that we owe the Argentines, as a repairmen from our mistakes. Not that she was a saint, on the contrary, what makes her special is that she was a poor village woman who met a man and her people. When you see the balance of the struggle for social justice, Eva weighs 4 tons in favor.
