Security Minister Nilda Garre said that “there is less crime in the City, but there is more violence, the security problem itself is very complex and ongoing.”

In addition she said, “There was some increase in violence in these offenses committed over time, but lowered the amount in the City.”

“The security problem itself is very complex and permanent. The policies on this subject should cover various scenarios: overall conflict (protests, marches), prevention (snatch), conspiracy of crime and investigation to lower rates and violence carried out.”

“The security problem itself is complex, changing, permanent and there is on the agenda of most countries as one of the most important.”

“There are many problems not related to the perception of insecurity or victimization surveys, although they constitute crimes such as corruption, harassment and exploitation in trafficking systems.”

“If we go to more violent crime and more visible, homicide, Argentina, according to UN data is far below other Latin American countries. In other offenses, including assault with a deadly weapon or vehicle theft, Argentina has the lowest rates in relation to the continent.”

“There was some increase in violence in these offenses over time. Only recently it began to decrease.”
