Workers of the Metropolitan Area Coordination Ecological Society of the State (CEAMSE) carry out a strike stoping garbage collection in the City of Buenos Aires and some suburbs.

Minister of Environment and Public Space Diego Santilli said that in the next few hours there will be a meeting “to see how we go unlocking the subject.”

“When the collection service is interrupted, it takes time to put into operation again,” he added.

“We will consider what measures we take to alleviate the situation, because things are going to get very complicated,” he said.

“I do not know why every time we start these discussions (in reference to the zero waste plan), it is altered the central services that affect citizens, now there are 14 million people without services,” the minister reported.
