Maradona requested 17 million euros to continue as coach of Al Wasl

During the past week several versions circulated about the departure of Diego Maradona as Coach of Al Wasl. Finally it was confirmed that the decision was not for the bad campaign, but for the amount requested by Maradona to continue.

“It wasn’t for his bad campaign”, expressed the directors of Al Wasl on the decision to dismiss Diego Armando Maradona. Diego asked for 17 million euros per month to continue leading the club.

On the other hand, he confirmed that the termination of his contract will not be easy, as he expects to be paid the remainder of the contract, signed until June 2013.

The club told him that they can only pay him three million eruos. And by way of compensation, also intend to offer an honorary position in the institution, as might be the Technical Advisor.
