The deputy governor of the Buenos Aires province Gabriel Mariotto rejected the request of Governor Daniel Scioli, to adhere to the Public Emergency Law since it was enacted in 2002.

Mariotto sent a letter to Chief Minister Alberto Perez, which stated that the project should not receive “a new legislative treatment,” because the law 12,858 is still in force.

“This instrument has already been sanctioned by the Honorable Legislature (Law No. 12858) dated 28/02/2002, issued on the same date by Decree No. 402/02 published on 06/03/2002 in the Official Gazette No. 24445″, Mariotto reported.

He adds: “While the province already has this tool, finding the law in force 12,858 mentioned above, a new legislation treatment becomes unnecessary.”
