Diego Maradona responded to the club Al Wasl, which yesterday decided to fire the coach, for reasons that were not entirely clear (read article).
Diego was very conciliatory, something that has surprised many and try to press through a rapprochement with the authorities of the club.
This is the Argentine coach statement.
“Me, Diego Armando Maradona, in response to the latest statements of advice, I report that was always my desire to stay in this wonderful land that has welcomed me so well and I am thankful for the sheik, in particular, for having received and giving me the opportunity to lead a team of the Emirates.
The reality is that in these last days we were talking and trying to reach agreement on the purchase of players, required to achieve optimal results in championships, which fills with joy to the people of the club and Sheikh Mohammed, that much effort been made to take me to that land. For this I am eternally grateful and I want to make clear that I was always comfortable and happy with the club and support.
Unfortunately the club has made a statement with which I disagree, because my desire was and is to continue leading the Al Wasl and if there is failure of the club to buy players, for lack of funds, there is always the possibility to discuss in conjunction with the council and seek solutions. In addition, Sheikh Ahmed has given me his full cooperation, so I am eternally grateful, first for trusting me and second for the love and respect I received from him and the people of the UAE. For all this I hope to have a meeting soon with the council, to address all these issues, I’m quite sure they will be willing and reach a good agreement. “
