Piumato: “The government is dangerously interfere in the internal life of the CGT”
Buenos Aires, July 8, 2012
Julio Piumato, head of Judiciary guild, criticized the national government, as part of the dispute that the CGT (General Confederation of Labor) have with Cristina Kirchner.
Piumato, who supports the current secretary general Hugo Moyano, said, “The government is dangerously interfere in the internal life of the CGT.”
“The authorities are not working an intern in the ministry, have a long knowledge of this subject. They know they can not intervene,” he complained.
Piumato accused thus, the Labor Minister Carlos Tomada, who decided to declare void the election of the CGT, to be held on July 12.
“We will do the same election. They have no authority to intervene in this instance. They have to know the law. We must respect the principle of union autonomy and freedom of association,” Piumato said.
And he compared the situation to last year when we were discussing “the distribution of corporate profits, to now be arguing that workers do not reach the minimum wage.”
