The brothers from Cañuelas town, Marcelo and Leonardo Massa, shot dead on Sunday in the supermarket where they worked, were accompanied with an emotional applause by family, friends and the community at large, in the middle of claims for justice.
The coffins arrived at the chapel where a mass in their memory was carried and people reacted spontaneously with a rousing applause that lasted for several minutes.
The tears of the people reflected in every look a deep sorrow due to the brutal crime. “All they did was work and care for their children, as most of our youth,” said the aunt of the victims.
“People from Cañuelas are a reflection of what our boys were. No excesses, held their anger with tears. I am grateful to this wonderful town,” the woman added.
Meanwhile, the municipality of Cañuelas remains closed and with custody, after the popular uprising that took place after the crimes. The authorities also declared three days of mourning, so the building is closed to public attention.
The crime occurred on Sunday at 19.30 when a criminal who arrived with a motorcycle, went to the supermarket “Doña Rosa”, and opened fire on the Massa brothers.
The main hypothesis revolves around the revenge of a former prisoner who was convicted of theft before, thanks to the testimony of the Massa brothers as witnesses.
