The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) released a photo of two soldiers holding hands, during the month of gay pride and caused a sensation on Facebook.
“It is Pride Month. Did you know that IDF soldiers treat everyone equally?” says the text accompanying the photo, which invites to share.
The result: 10,000 people pressed the “Like” button while the image was shared 8000 times and had over 2000 comments.
The comments were in favor and against, although the latter were given a lesser extent. Most people agreed that the military accept his soldiers without discrimination based on sexual orientation.
Interior Ministry officials received it with great enthusiasm and described the reaction of people as touching.
IDF accept soldiers openly declared gay since 1993, to give an example to other armies in the world.
