Secretary of Economic Policy of the Ministry of Economy, Axel Kicillof introduced the Credit Program Argentine Bicentenary (ProCreAr Bicentenario) which plans to build 400 000 houses in 4 years and create 200 000 jobs, directly and indirectly, in 1 year.
“We are presenting a plan to build in 4 years, 400 thousand homes. It is a plan which aims for the period 2012-2013 is 100 thousand new homes and will be funded by various sources including ANSES, the Banco Nacion and will have a trust with loans on favorable terms for those with difficulties in access to housing at market prices.
This plan does nothing but coupled to different initiatives that this government has undertaken to solve the housing problem in the country. They will continue to run, and probably will build about 100 thousand homes and housing solutions.
We are facing a period in which President Cristina Kirchner will cause a substantial change in the share of state and a frontal attack on homelessness persists from neoliberalism.
The proportion of expenditure on housing in relation to total expenditure, and relative to GDP from 2003 to 2011, has represented an increase of 60%. Several programs have been successful and, despite its age.
Why this plan? The battery of programs have targeted different housing problems, but we needed a plan for a segment of the population whose incomes have increased. The price of housing has increased less than income, but there remains a segment of the population failed to benefit.
